Making
a Load Resistor Plug
Making a load resistor plug is really pretty easy. All you have
to do is go to RadioShack and purchase a couple of DIY phono
plugs (RS Cat.#: 274-339). Remove the cover, and solder the
resistor and/or capacitor leads to the pin and crown of the plug,
making sure it will all fit inside when the cover is put back on.
Then you put the cover back on, and it's done. Takes longer for
the soldering iron to heat up than it does to make one...
You can make several to match the pickups in your guitar, or to
further shape your sound.
