Octal Fatness Sound Clips Last updated 7/14/04
The quick and dirty soundclips below were recorded with the speaker cabinet miked with a cheap computer microphone straight into the sound card in my computer. This actually yielded some halfway decent results. These were originally recorded in .wav format and then converted to .mp3 format using a program called dBpowerAMP. I tried to find the best compromise between file size and sound quality and I didn't normalize the soundclips when converting them to .mp3 format because I wanted to keep as much of the original dynamics as possible. The clips were recorded in one sitting with my Ibanez EX370-FM electric with a DIY on-board FET preamp. The pickup positions are generally either the neck or bridge humbuckers, and on some clips I switch between pickups to hear how changing the pickups affects the tone. 1x12 Speaker Cabinet (8 ohms) Description Settings |
